Caravaner takes clamping revenge
A caravaner who was clamped at an M5 service station has said he does not regret taking his revenge - by clamping the clamper.
Glyn Roberts stopped at the Cullompton services in Devon when driving home to Walsall from a holiday in Cornwall.
When he discovered he had been clamped for parking illegally in the lorry park, he used his own caravan security clamp on the parking firm's vehicle.
But Mr Roberts removed his clamp and paid a release fee when police arrived.
The 51-year-old told BBC News he parked in the wrong area because the parking bays for regular cars and caravans were all full and there were plenty of spaces in the lorry park.
Insurance agreement
He said when an Able Parking Services employee clamped him without any warning, he was astonished and saw red.
"I had a clamp in my caravan because I normally clamp it as part of my insurance agreement," he said.
"I don't know why, but it just came into my mind and I managed to quickly get it on the van."
No-one from Able Parking Services was available for comment.
