4WD-style Scenic Conquest on the way

15 Jun 2007

Renault will unveil this tougher-looking Scenic Conquest MPV at the Geneva Motor Show and put it on sale in the UK this summer. The front-wheel-drive-only has an extra 20mm of ground clearance, while the suspension has also been adjusted to provide more comfort over bumpy surfaces. Traction and stability control systems have also been tweaked for improved performance on loose surfaces.

A package of body modifications includes a black graphite coating on the rear bumper, rubbing strips and a pair of roof bars. Four engines will be available - a 110bhp 1.6- or 135bhp 2.0-litre petrol, or a 105bhp 1.5- or 130bhp 2.0-litre diesel.

Equipment levels are based on Dynamique trim, but with additional equipment including rear parking sensors and stability control. Expect prices to start at around £17,000, about £750 more than an equivalent Dynamique model.
