Japanese Cars Make The Best Buys
Japanese cars are the best buy, according to a poll of satisfied consumers.
European car manufacturers have some work to do if they want to play catch-up, according to the survey by Which? Car magazine.
Honda and Toyota are considered to have the most reliable cars, with the Honda Jazz supermini the highest-rated new vehicle.
But Britain's once great pride - Land Rover - appears stuck in the mud.
The 4x4 Land Rover came last of the reliability table, with the Land Rover Discovery 3 the least satisfactory new vehicle - even though it scored 79%.
Other vehicles rated highly by their owners included the BMW 3 Series, the Honda Accord, the Toyota Avensis, the Audi A6 and the Mazda MX-5.
Among the least reliable were the Citroen C4, the Peugeot 307 and the Renault Megane.
"Congratulations to Honda, which has topped the reliability table in most mainstream categories," said editor Richard Headland.
"Several Far Eastern car makers are hot on its heels, but European manufacturers still have some catching up to do."
