UK caravanners are encouraged to support British tourism by displaying stickers that state: “Go green, go British, go caravanning”.
The National Caravan Council (NCC) has launched the campaign to promote holidaying in Britain as part of British Tourism Week, which starts on March 10.
The move comes shortly after the NCC launched a service on its website that allows holidaymakers to enter the distance they are travelling and the type of car and caravan they are using to reveal their Co2 output, which can then be compared with flying.
NCC Deputy Director General Alicia Dunne said: “There is a fantastic choice of holiday parks in Britain and, in many cases, great attention is paid to protecting the environment.
“So, we are urging caravanners to support our British tourism industry, thereby hopefully helping the environment too.”
Stickers are available by emailing [email protected] or telephoning 01252 318251.
